WE ARE ALL PART OF THE RICH HISTORY OF THIS SCHOOL AND WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER

Dear COGAM Members,

Our school St. Joseph’s Secondary School Makeni will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2012 and time is moving very quickly. We’ve had many debates about upgrading our school and preparing for the Anniversary. In fact some old girls have already started to act on this and we are moving on with these plans. We are now working on having a COGAM website. In order to do this, we need information about the history of the school, stories, pictures and videos.

Our Online Photo Gallery
We now have an online album and we invite you to view some of the activities that our girls and friends have initiated. Please send us pictures and updates about meetings and activities you are organizing on behalf of the school and COGAM.

Blog:  St. Joseph’s Secondary School Makeni @ 50 Years
We need information about the history and activities of the school, stories and photo from each graduation class if possible from 1961 to 2012.   These stories will be developed into articles for the blog which will be linked to the website. We are also exploring the possibility of converting the blog to a book.  This can be a fundraising project and proceeds can go to support the school.  Let me know if this is an initiative we will like to explore.

Mary Hawa Turay, Class of 1990
Because I am the only COGAM member in my town and will not be able to organize a big fundraising activity, my contribution is to help develop of the COGAM website and will also make this year’s payment for the host provider.  But I will need the cooperation of the group to provide me with the content for the site and will also need a volunteer to administer the website with me.  Let us put our hands together to build our school.  Thank you all.
